About Us

Join us to on the road to save good food from ending up in the landfill and eliminate food insecurity

40% of food produced is wasted, while 1 in 8 people face food insecurity. This is a solvable problem, and Tamiami Food Rescue is here to make it happen. We use technology and volunteer power to rescue good food before it’s wasted and connect it to the nonprofits feeding our community.

The Tamiami Trail is a major historic highway in Florida that links Tampa and Miami, which is how it got its name. It is best known for crossing the Everglades, making it one of the most important early transportation routes in South Florida. We hope to use technology and transportation to end hunger in Florida and unite Floridans in the process!
